Recently I have been away from the actual camera and occupied with the “virtual” camera.

This is forty five percent by choice and sixty five percent due to low business.

So if you’re interested in my blog, perhaps you will be as interested in my Instagram!

Happy following, which reminds me,

I hope all had a glorious Thanksgiving with all the stuffing’s!

Get it? Stuffing’s instead of fixings?

The Life of a Painter | Savannah Rei

Fotor1127125541

A painter is precise,

whether or not precession is achieved through the stroke of a curve, every painter has a vision,

whether or not that vision is one color or two, painters are creative,

whether or not they are just touching up a living room wall.

A painter paints, whether or not it is with paint.

Song Writing : Part 2 | Savannah Rei

Fotor1113113822

Here is a preview of my upcoming song that I have been working on titled Distanced Lovers.

I wanted to focus my writing on a love story that you rarely hear about, a blind date. I, having experienced the anticipation and anxiousness of a blind date as my first date, ever, wanted to channel the past energy into something more!

If you would like to here a Demo of Distanced Lovers Here is How →

| The Wintumn Blues |

scarves and hats all hung up high
good enough for a lullaby
clothes they lay upon the floor
as rain it trickles outside my door

oh how I have the autumn sadness
the sadness that captivates the soul
oh how I hate this autumn sadness
autumn sadness takes control

yellow, orange, red and brown
now the leaves fall to the ground
autumn soon will be no more
the winter winds are soon in store

oh autumn sadness how you’ll leave
no more captivating me
the winter blues will soon take hold
while autumn sadness you’ll be cold

As some of you should know by my last Blog post, I have recently been song writing. Above is my first song completed, if you’re interested in listening to it → Here is How

A Hobby or Two | Savannah Rei

I know, it’s been awhile “since I first saw you.” (Staind Moment)

Recently, my season has been dead because of some misfortunes with my usual model, Kaitlyn.

So, what have I been doing you may ask?

I have been writing music; I have tried writing music throughout numerous occasions in my life; Middle School, High School and now College.  Through my endeavors of song writing it has always been the continuous steps of writing a song, liking it for two seconds and then throwing it away.  As I curled up into my quilt and learned the ways of my new, outdated iPhone I came upon the recording app that is naturally installed. On the iPod I used to own, this app was as well featured; however, it was inaccessible due to its outdated, as all of my electronics are, nature. (Yes, I am aware that I have a comma problem.) Having always recorded my voice on electronics that are not of the best quality, I decided to give this one a shot. After recording some general rhyme schemes and playing my voice back to me, I became ever so thankful for the clear, crisp sound that muffled my ears. Now pleased, I decided to sit and soak in my surroundings, I wanted to sing, I want to write, overall, I wanted to convey soul. From this rest and tranquility I have now completed one song called “The Wintumn Blues, ” and currently I am working on two songs and hoping to collaborate with my Jon-Foreman-lover-of-a-Guitarist, Bernard.

If you’re interested in listening to my finishing product The Wintumn Blues  feel free to e-mail me @ sabiesavannahrei@yahoo.com with the subject title as the song title, or comment below with your e-mail. If you have any comments or critiques regarding the song please feel free to reply to the Demo with the following suggestions and encouragements.

My Strive Verse: Savannah Rei

Fotor0922175629

Recently, I have been pondering the fact that I have not really shared my faith with you guys. Ergo, I thought, what better way to share who I am through Christ than share my strive verse. Now most people talk about their life verse, that one verse in scripture that gets them through the day. However, a strive verse is much different, a strive verse is a verse you strive for, a verse that motivates you to become a better you through God’s word. Above and below is that verse,

Romans 12:2a

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Part of my testimony is that I used to be a follower. I used to buy the same clothes as the “cool” girls, I was tempted to try illegal drugs, I became infatuated with being in a relationship, and I even told lame jokes to appear “cool.” Most people always go through the loss of themselves, struggling to find who they are. Once I realized I was a child of God I began not to care about who I was in myself, but who I was in Christ.

On my first photo session, me being the model and Anna Filliben being the photographer, I was told of how I reminded Anna of Romans 12 : 2. My non-conformity was a comfort. However, Anna was not referring to my faith, she was referring to my personality. I then made it a personal mission to combine my non-conformity to my personality and faith.

I am not telling you this story to motivate you to be different,  I am telling you this story to wake you up like Anna woke me up, and realize those intentions that do not honor Christ and transform them into what dignifies your relationship with Him.

So today, I encourage you to evaluate yourself, who are you and what do you value about who you are? Check your prerogatives and see if they are in the right place, see if you’re set in Christ’s peace.

Note: Image was branded by me and is to be my first tattoo, wish me luck on not freaking out!

The Authenticity of Autumn: Savannah Rei

Fotor0921211444

It is about time that the heat ceased, the cold released and the holiday seasons of carving pumpkins and stuffing your face commenced! If there is one thing you should know about me it is that the cold is attached to my soul, I have long aspired to move to Minnesota, Canada, even Alaska, just to connect myself 24/7, 365 with the chill of Autumn and Winter. For those of you who dread the raking of the leaves, the bundled fashions and the iced air piercing your red, freckled noses, I suggest you get over it until global warming takes effect. So while you cannot enjoy the many splendors of the cold seasons, indulge yourself in at least one, the beauty of the earth and it’s transformation.

Below are some photo’s of that transformation, enjoy in your indulgence.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall: Savannah Rei

Fotor0917113328

Before the 21st of September sneaks upon us I wanted to take some pictures of the summer and what its last days had to offer!

I have never been a heat person per say, but I still love seeing the flowers in bloom, the sky filled with birds and the lake thawed. Nonetheless, I cannot wait for sweaters, fall portraits, knitted socks, scarves, beanies, fall festivities, and it may be too soon to mention, but egg nog. Egg nog shakes, egg nog in the bottle, egg nog baked goods, its my favorite season specialty. Enough ranting more viewing, enjoy my first nature/abandoned town session with earth and the ol’ army base! And for you summer folk, hold tight to the next few days we have left.

Post-It Notes and Tilt shifts: Savannah Rei

Fotor0909143454

Some of you may not know that this is my first year of college, not only that, but everything is based online. Ergo, sometimes I can get a tad distracted. Hence, I see my camera and think for some reason you guys may want to know some keen study habits that actually work!

1.Even though writing in your book may help, I assure you post its help even more.

a.You can’t sell written-in text books majority of the time.

b.If you place the note in the wrong margin you can easily move it somewhere else.

c.Great for edge bookmarking and indexing

Fotor090914454

2.Highlighting

a.You can sell books with highlighted marks

b.There is never too much information that can be highlighted

c.It makes the book look more appealing to the eye.

Fotor0909143757

3.You can never answer too many questions.

a.Use study guide questions

b.Use the books discussion questions

c.Use the syllabus questions

(It never hurts to know too much.)

Fotor0909145553

4. Do not “shoo” your cat off of the bed.

a. A cat’s purr is great to jam to during text book days

b. When you become dismayed, cuddling with your cat can perk you up in seconds

c. Great for a book stand

I hope you enjoyed this humorous post and pictures.

Happy studying!
